Vehicle fleeing police leads to a fatal car crash in Rockford

ROCKFORD (WREX) — We know the name of this man who died after his car was struck by a car that was driving from Rockford police on Sunday.ISP says a few members of the Rockford Police SCOPE team officers tried to stop a fleeing car with stop sticks just before 5:00 p.m. Sunday.The vehicle avoided the stop sticks and drove off. The vehicle then struck another car in the area of Harrison Ave. and 9th St.Police say Jackson was killed in the wreck while two children, a 12-year-old boy and also a 2-year-old girl, were injured in the accident. The children were taken to the hospital, however, police haven’t provided an update on their situation. Flint was taken into custody and then carried to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening accidents.Police haven’t said where members of this SCOPE Team originally attempted to prevent Flint’s automobile at or what resulted in the crash.
