New Illinois Law Empowers Hotels to Refuse Service to Unruly Guests
Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker has signed a new law, known as the ‘Be Nice Bill,’ empowering hotels to refuse service to unruly guests. This law, part of a nationwide initiative by the American Hotel and Lodging Association, aims to protect hotel employees from verbal abuse and maintain a safe working environment. However, it does not apply to people living in hotels or during severe weather warnings. The law is expected to help address the worker shortage in the hotel industry and contribute to the growth of the state’s tourism industry.
