New Illinois Act Grants Employees a Minimum of 40 Hours Paid Leave Annually

The new Illinois act guarantees employees a minimum of 40 hours of paid leave annually, allowing them to use the time for any purpose without providing a reason or documentation. Employers are required to maintain group health plan coverage during the paid leave, and employees can carry over unused paid leave to the next year. Employees are encouraged to seek workers compensation benefits if their employer does not comply with this act.
